Meet Kate

Kate After 15 years of teaching languages, Kate switched over to caring for 4-legged charges. She completed the certification course at Nash Academy of Animal Arts, then in Cliffside Park, NJ, a school nationally known for quality grooming education. She is a member of the National Dog Groomers' Association of America and attends several continuing education seminars a year to keep up with the latest in skin and coat care products as well as stay abreast of styling trends and developments in tools and products to help make grooming a pleasurable experience for your pet.

Cat grooming is one of Kate's specialties. After 30 years of raising and showing Maine Coon cats, Kate has attained an expertise in cat handling and kitty communication that has led to several invitations to give seminars on the art of cat grooming both in this country and abroad. She also had a ball competing in the first ever cat-grooming competition in the whole world at the Intergroom conference in 2003 where she took second place with a sporty clip on her Maine Coon cat, Crash!

Four years ago Kate traveled to the Equissage School of Animal massage in Virginia to learn the healing and relaxing art of massage therapy for animals. Although she decided not to open an animal massage practice, there are many Pet Project groomees, especially our senior citizens, who are mighty glad she still likes to keep in practice!

Kate is also certified by the Red Cross in animal CPR.
